Approximately four weeks ago, my wife started experiencing what she believed were digestive system problems including indigestion, gas, and some bloating. She was also coughing a little more than normal and getting a little more short of breath than normal. After about a week, she went to the Doctor and was given an Over-the-Counter medication for her digestive system symptoms. This had no effect so the following week she saw a Physician s Assistant at a local Express Care that gave her a Prescription Medication for her digestive system problems, as well as performing blood testing for possible infection (both had negative results). The following week, my wife went back to the PA, who then scheduled her for an Ultra-Sound Test the following day. The Ultra-Sound Test identified fluid in one of her lungs, as well as in her abdomen so she was immediately given a CAT-Scan that did not identify any abnormalities. At that point, the PA starting suspecting an issue with my wife s Ovaries and consulted with a Gynecologist, who in turn consulted with a Gynecological Oncologist. The decision was then made to remove some of the fluid for analysis, and approximately one Liter of fluid was removed. This was performed just over one week ago, and her cough and shortness of breath have subsided, but she has still been experiencing indigestion. Yesterday, she received a phone call from the Gynecologist that the results of the fluid analysis show that my wife has Andenocarcinoma in one of her Lungs so we re now waiting for an Appointment with a Medical Oncologist. I ve been doing some research on Andenocarcinoma of the Lungs; and with the exception of the cough and shortness of breath (which seem to have gotten better since the fluid was removed), my wife s symptoms don t appear to match those associated with Lung Andenocarcinoma. During my research, I ve noticed that Andonocarcinoma can originate in several different organs including the Colon, and those symptoms seem to be more closely related to what my wife has been experiencing. As such, I m wondering if the fluid could be originating in the Colon as opposed to the Lung?
