Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was prescribed Wellbutrin a few years ago and developed an allergic reaction after a few months. I stopped taking it after a few days as well as taking other precautions against other things that could have caused the reaction and the symptoms went away after about a week. I haven't experienced such positive results with other antidepressants as I did on the Wellbutrin and would love to be able to go back on it. Is there a way to test for a possible allergy to Wellbutrin without having to take it orally again?

It would be most helpful to understand why and who prescribed the Buproprion (Wellbutrin). I ask because it is not firstline treatment unless specified. Let's talk this over in more detail. Additionally, have you tried other antidepressants in the past? How well did you tolerate them?
