Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern.
Amoxicillin can cause a rash with itching in two conditions.
First is an allergy to the drug like any other substance to which one can develop allergy.
The second is an infection by Ebstein Barr Virus ( Infectious Mononucleosis). If Amoxicillin is used in such patients they can develop a rash which can be extensive.
Hope she gets well soon.
I am available if you have further queries.
