Can An MRI Be Done With An Inserted Metal Plate In The Neck?

I am scheduled this Wednesday for a MRI of my head for a pituitary problem. My question is, since I have a metal plate & 3 screws in the first 3 vertabrae which are fused to my skull in my neck, due a broken neck surgery, can they still do the MRI?

Hello,

Usually, MRI is contraindicated in case if you have any metal plates or pacemakers or artificial heart valves or aneurysmal clips in your body. Please consult your doctor he will guide you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
