Can An Accident Cause Neck Bone Deterioration?

I was recently in a car accident and I got checked out just to be safe. The doctor said he did not see any new injuries, but my xrays showed a deteriated bone in my neck. I did notice a popping noise before , but now it s more often and more noticable. What cause this condition?

Hello,

If this popping noise is not associated with pain or any other major symptoms then you should not worry, it can be due to swelling of soft tissue which may disappear in next 3-5 days. Till then you may apply cold compress around neck and take a mild analgesic like acetaminophen for relief.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
