Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was in a car accident 2 days ago. Passenger side collision, with the hitting car going about 55 mph. I refused treatment at the time. Now I have shortness of breath, it seems to be on the left side. This is the same side of most of the bruising. Any ideas?
Hi, common cause of shortness of breath after trauma to chest include air leak into pleura (pneumothorax) and rib pain (resulting in restricted chest movement). Rarely cardiac tamponade is a possibility, but is a dangerous condition. I would suggest you to consult a physician as delay can worsen the problem.
