Can An Ingrown Toenail Of A 6-month-old Baby Be Treated?
Hello, our 6 month old baby has what might be a partially ingrown toenail which has become very inflamed and red in a short period of time. As we wait to see whether it get worse or not (doctors surgery closed) we wondered if swabbing it with detol after a bath might help. Is it safe to use detol on our baby?
Ingrow toe nail means growth of nail within skin rather than facing outwards. .. It is not common in such a young baby .. Moreover having inflammation so strong possibility of bacterial infection is there ..
Topical antibacterial cream might be applied over that ....
Here if skin compression more than surgical avulsion might needed. ...
Wear your baby comfortable shoes and scoks ...
Wash that area with water and soap daily ...
Take care ....
Advise : consult surgeon for examination and treatment accordingly ..
