Iron doesn’t have any interaction with tonsillitis, but can have minor to moderate interactions with the treatment for it.
If your doctor has prescribed Tetracyclines like Doxycycline for your condition, then avoid iron supplementation. However, if your iron supplementation is for an underlying anemic condition, then you can speak to your doctor regarding so.
Iron can then be taken 2hours before or after antibiotic intake to avoid much interaction and it also reduces the chance of reduced absorption of the antibiotic.
