Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My boyfriend is 43 and has found out he has high blood pressure. He has to go to a hospital in 2 months to get fitted with a 24hr monitor. The reading when he first saw the doctor was 140 / 85, he then bought an Omron home testing kit and his readings have been 135/77 and then a week later 143/68. He has been watching his diet and exercising more. Are these numbers going in the right direction? Which is more important? The systolic or diastolic? Many thanks
Hi, It seems that his blood pressure is in quite normal variation. He might not require any blood pressure medicine. With regular exercises and some salt restriction he will get his blood pressure normal. Diastolic pressure is more important than systolic and his diastolic pressure is quite in normal range. Avoid stress. Ok and take care.
