Can An Overactive Thyroid Cause Sensitive Nipples? Pregnancy Test Can Go Wrong?

Can an overactive thyroid cause sensitive nipples to the point where the hurt even under a shower. My period this month has been unusual, pink in colour and very light to the point of only blood when wipping, after 4 days a little more blood has shown up Have had urine pregnancy test came back negative. Have not had a period since 30 December. Could the pregnancy test be wrong?

Hi, I had gone through your query and understand your concerns.Over Active Thyroid can present as Infrequent or lighter periods . You should be worried but not too much ..Pregnancy test is unlikely to be negative ( if conceived) However, You can repeat the test again to confirm the result.( I suggest that to do the Preganncy test at a lab rather than at home as this may clear ur doubts).As per Information , If last menstrual period is Dec 30 th, Ultrasound can be very good investigation to rule out pregnancy .
Nipple tenderness and breast tenderness -slight is common during menstruation Kindly repeat your Thyroid tests and visit Endocrinologist and also later Gynecologist for the irregular cycles. You can talk to your Doctor to give you medicines after the tests accordingly.
