Can An Ultrasound Scan Be Done Without A Doctor’s Consent During Pregnancy?

Hi Doctor, I am in my 27 weeks of pregnancy. I would like to go for another ultrasound to see if the baby is fine. My Doctor said everything is fine and there is no need for the next ultrasound soon. But, i am just concern and want to make sure although, might sound abit naive. Is it possible or okay to go for another scan without a Doctor referral?

Hi.
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
There is nothig to worry regarding this issue.Your baby is absolutely fine.
Ultrasound is a very safe imaging technique. It does not use any harmful radiations but use high frequency sound waves. It does not cause any harm to your baby.If you are really concerned you can do an additional ultrasound scan even without a doctor's referral.
Hope this information helps.
With regards.
