Can Anemia Cause Seizures And Weakness On Body?
hi. can anemia cause seizures [melonic] until I had 3 pints of blood, my right leg would involuntarily shake and may be totally weak. this was followed by overwhelming weakness in my whole body, lasting for maybe 1-3 minutes. would a blood count of 11.5 encourage a doctor to at least prescribe iron? thank you Merlyn nelson

The normal hemoglobin (blood count) for a female is 12 to 15.5 so your value is only slightly below the norm.
It would be possible to use diet to try to increase it further but if you are still concerned then a short course of iron supplements ,which would be available over the counter,can be used.
