Can Antibiotics Affect The Fetus?

I am a 29 year old lady. I had an ultrasound and the report said i am seven weeks pregnant. It also said there is fluid in the pouch of douglas which my doctor said could be PID. I am on antibiotics to treat the PID. Will this affect the baby in any way? Will i be affected by this too?

Brief answer: Yes may affect the fetus.Safety based on the drug's adverse effect profile.
Detailed answer: According to me,antibiotics mostly doesn't affect the fetus but some of them(like tetracycline,fluoroquinolone(-floxacin) group,aminoglycoside group etc drugs are associated with potential risks that might cause developmental abnormalities in the fetus.In my opinion,at therapeutic doses of safer antibiotics (like cephalosporin,penicillin,macrolide(erythromycin group)etc,there should be no harm to neither the fetus nor you.Hope i have answered your query.
