Can Antibiotics Taken For Bee Sting During Pregnancy Affect The Baby?
I am 12 weeks pregnant, I received a bee sting approximately two hours ago. I am not allergic to bee stings but I am concerned there may be some reaction that could effect the baby. Should I be concerned nd if so what precautionary measures should I take ?
There are antibiotics that can be prescribed in pregnancy and are safe for the baby while some others are not.
You should let your doctor know that you are pregnant and the doctor will prescribe an antibiotic that is safe in pregnancy. Augmentin, for instance, is quite a safe antibiotic in pregnancy, and cefalosporins as well. If the doctor thinks you need antibiotics, one of these would be quite a safe choice.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
