Can Anxiety And Mood Swings Be Caused By Taking Citalopram For Fibromyalgia?

hi I have fibromaylgia, and am on citlopram daily. However the last month or so I have been feeling very anxious, terrible mood swings, bloating, and then upset stomach. Sharp pains in the sides of my chest and lower back as well as an increase in Fibro pain. I have also been struggling more than usual with exhaustion

Hello.The symptoms that you refer are not, initially ,related to intake of Citalopram. His symptoms are characteristic of anxiety, which often is related to Fibromyalgia.It is advisable to replace Citalopram by other antidepressant as Duloxetine.It is also advisable to add a anxiolytic as Lorazepam or Alprazolam.
With these changes in drugs, you feel better.I wish you good health.
