I HAVE GIVEN INJ. CEFTRIAXONE 1.5 GM/CEFIXIME- OFLOXACIN BD FOR 10 DAYS WHEN RATIO OF T. FEVER IS 1;160 BUT STILL NOT ERADICATED .WHAT SHOULD I DO

Hi, The Widal test is no longer sensitive or specific for typhoid infection. Just complete the course of antibiotics.Because typhoid bacteria basically affects the intestines,do not eat spicy or oily food. Eat lots of fruits and drink juices and soups. Eat home cooked food only. You will be fine soon.

Once you get infected with the Typhoid, it will take for body around 3 to week to produce anti body against the typhoid bacteria... even if you egt treated, it will take time for the load of bacteria to decrease in titer.. 1:160 shows moderately infected.. do not worry much, continue with the antibiotics... the titer will reduce by a week....Hope i have answered your question
