Yes this is quite possible and HIV is one of the examples. Though it is not very common. Most of the STIs which are bacterial, fungal or protozoal are self resolving or they come with symptoms. Viral STIs have a long symptom free course. eg Warts, HIV etc.
thanks for choosing health care magic.See in some diseases males are carrier means having infection but not showing signs and symptoms of disease.The female partner when infected gives a clue to diagnosis.So in such kind of cases both the partner need to be treated.
