Can Aortic Regurgitation Cause Erectile Dysfunction?

Can moderate to severe aortic regurgitation cause erectile dysfunction? My cousin (33 years old) was born with a Bicuspid Aortic Valve and lately he discovered that his aortic regurgitation got worse. He has experienced many sexual issues such the impossibility of keeping an erection and if he does, it is not that stroung or still, sometimes barely manage to have sex. Thanks in advance.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The aortic regurgitation is not directly involved with erectile dysfunction, but it is the secondary changes in descending aorta affecting the blood supply to Gondal vessels which is responsible for erectile issues.

* In my clinic, I do recommend a doppler ultrasound of the testes for further guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
