Can Bald Patch Occur Due To Use Of Listerine On Head?
Hello - my bf and I used Listerine on his head for his dry, itchy scalp issue. It seemed to work the first time, so we tried it again after a week or so and the next day after he noticed a slight bald patch. He thinks it s from the Listerine. Is that possible? Or is it possible the Listerine killed out the fungus affecting his head, along with some hair follicles in that area?
Hello and thanks for your question. Listerine would not cause the bald spot. The bald spot could be from a fungus or other problem with the scalp. He should let a doctor check this and get adequate treatment and stop using the Listerine. The Listerine did not cause the problem but it will not help either. He could try some anti-fungal cream or dandruff shampoo if he wants to do that but seeing a doctor or dermatologist to figure out the cause would be the quickest way to get a diagnosis and avoid further hair loss Have a good day.
