Can Bipolar Disorder Affect Relationships?

my spouse is bipolar. this is new to me. he continually vacilliates between wanting to be with me and getting a divorce. it will just come out of nowhere and he will cry and cry and then he will cry and cry about how wrong he was to want to leave. is this a part of bipolar ?

Yes your spouse having bipolar mood disorder.
In this disorder patient having unexpected mood swing.
At one time patient having mania like condition while at other time having extreme depression.
So mostly according to history it can be bipolar mood disorder.
Here you can do is to give him support and try him to improving his condition.
mood stabilizer drug is helpful like lithium.Antipsycotic and antidepressent drug also helpful along with behaviour therapy.
