Can Birth Control Give The Full Protection After Unprotected Sex?

I had sex with my girlfriend three days ago while she was on the pill. She has never missed a pill in over a year. I used a condom and pulled out. She forgot to bring the pill with her on vacation and won't be able to take them for 3 days. Could the sex from three nights ago still have get her pregnant. I know birth controls and condom don't always work but I want to know if the birth control will still work for that instance?

Hello,

The regular birth control pills should be taken without fail. If she will not take the birth control pills in the coming three days then she will be at the risk of getting pregnant. Condoms are not very safe, they tear or can slip. In case of unprotected sex she can get pregnant. If you are not planning for a baby then she can take emergency contraceptive pills within 72 hours of unprotected sex. Emergency contraceptive pills are effective if taken in time and as instructed. For the best efficacy of the medicine she should not take alcohol, drugs or smoke.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
