Can Bleeding And Passing Clots Result In Miscarriage?
I am four weeks pregnant and about three days ago I started spotting then it progressed to light bleeding. Today I visited the doctor, she said the the uterus mouth is open, however, a vaginal ultra sound was done and the doctor prescribed lupigest 200 to be inserted vaginally as well as folic acid tabs but now I am passing small clots and the bleeding is heavier now with mild back and abdominal pain on and off. Can you advice me if this is leading to a miscarriage
Hello thanks for writing to us with your health concern. The possibility of a miscarriage is high in your case. With the cervix ( mouth of uterus open ) and spotting, the case is called threatened miscarriage. With passage of clots and heavy bleeding with pain, chances of inevitable miscarriage are high. You should visit your doctor again, before the bleeding intensifies. A repeat sonogram should be done. Meanwhile, take rest, do not stress out, and get access to medical care immediately. All the best. Take care.
