Can Bleeding Gums Cause Miscarriage?

Hi. I've just suffered a second miscarriage in a row with my first two pregnancies. I have had bleeding gums throughout both pregnancies. My gums bleed quite often anyway, but it definitely gets worse when I'm pregnant. I read somewhere that bleeding gums can carry bacteria to the fetus and can cause the baby to stop growing. Is there any truth in this and if so, is there anything I can do to stop or curtail the bleeding. Thanks.

Hello,
Bleeding gums will not affect baby's growth, but it does lower your hemoglobin..
If you clean your gums properly after bleeding , then there are no chances of spreading any kind of bacterial infection...
But my advise to you is to find out the cause of repetitive bleeding gums...go through vitamin C and riboflavin level , which can cause bleeding...take multivitamin tablets and have proper diet including fruits and vegetables...
Best luck for your pregnancy and do follow up regularly to avoid any chances of abortion, because you had that kind of history...
You can ask me any further queries...
