Can Blood In Urine And Vaginal Bleeding After A Hysterectomy Be Treated?
Hi...I have been bleeding on and off lightly since a hysterectomy in Jan of 2015... and have had large amounts of blood in my urine as well...I have had ct scans...x rays...renal ultrasounds... Urine and blood work...and the only thing found so far is vaginal strep which I have been prescribed amoxicillan and am on the 5th day of a 10 day dose...this is JUST being discovered after all this time...I had been getting urine dip results that I had an infection and was given Bactrim repeatedly...jus to find out that Bactrim does not cure vaginal strep...and only penicillin or amoxicillin which only now after 2 years...my question is...what can cause blood in our urine or vaginal bleeding after a hysterectomy that they could be missing if this vaginal strep is not the cause once I finish this dose...I am completely at a lost and frustrated...I m under a urologists care... and my Dr seems to be at a lost as well...I have constant back tenderness as well..they can seem to find anything else wrong...does vaginal steep cause bloody urine and vaginal bleeding after a hysterectomy? Please advise if u can help in any way...Thank u

Can Blood In Urine And Vaginal Bleeding After A Hysterectomy Be Treated?
Hi, There can be possible endometriosis at the site of hysterectomy stump and which seems to be the possible leading cause of vaginal bleeding. A biopsy of the stump site would prove of great benefit against normal CT scan in this instance. So far as blood in urine is concerned, that can be multi-drug resistant urinary tract infection or other renal issues need to be addressed. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
