Can Brain Aneurysm Be Seen In Sinus CT Scan?

I had a sinus ct scan done two weeks ago. It showed that I need septolasty, turbinate reduction, and left concha bullosa resection. I am schedule for surgery next week. Strange question but if I had a brain aneurysm would it have been seen in my ct scan?

Hello,

Aneurysm is a localized swelling in the wall of an artery. CT scan is a diagnostic tool that can give idea about both hard and soft structures present in the area. Probably you are confused between CT scan and x-ray as x- ray can only show hard tissues in the area and not blood vessels.

Thus, your CT scan show if you have an aneurysm present in brain.

I hope this answer solves your confusion. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish your surgery heals you well!

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
