Can Celiac Disease With Abdomen Pain, Fatigue And Intestinal Inflammation Be Treated?

I am an 18 year old male who was just diagnosed with celiacs disease. Confirmed by an endoscopy biopsy. I have severe stabbing pain in my lower right abdomen and fatigue. Everything was ruled out through blood tests and CT scan. ( That is when I had the blood work for celiacs done and it came back very high ) I have been gluten free for a week now--but pain is the same. Could I have bacteria in my small intestines?? The biopsy did show inflammation in my small intestines. Woud I have a fever if there was bacteria? I have been sick for over 3 weeks now..

Hello,

Many patients report continuing symptoms despite adhering to a gluten-free diet for >5 years, with women experiencing more symptoms and a lower recovery rate than men.

Awareness of celiac disease needs improvement, and follow-up with a physician and a dietitian is essential for all patients with celiac disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
