My husband has stage IV colon cancer with liver mets. He s been on Avastin and FU5 for six months. He has responded pretty well to chemo, since he started with an almost 3000 CEA and now it is 212. Yesterday he asked me to look at his urine, as he thinks there is blood in it. It was in fact redish , but I really don t know if it is blood or just a very dark yellow. He has had nose bleds and even some lesions in his arms that bleed, and I know it is the Avastin. Does chemo or Avastin also cause blood in the urine? And.... does this mean he might be getting worse? My biggest problem are my two stepdaughters who are hospice nurses and have been seeing death hovering since day one, and they just scare ME to death. I am not naive and know my husband will not live 20 years, but neither I see him dying.
