Hi I have read that eating too much cinnamon with food can cause liver damage. I use it on everthing. I love it and put at least 2-3 tsp in oatmeal, cereal, smoothies, fruit etc. I have noticed that my stomach is always swollen and I have pain in my back. just wondering if it true what I have read.....Janice
Hello I have gone through your question and understand your concern. Anything in moderation is beneficial for health but excess do cause damage, be it fatty food, alcohol, sugars, medications or Cinnamon with so many health benefits. Moderation is the key for healthy body, over doing things will only do harm and no good. Liver is core processor of body where metabolism take place, active ingredients from cinnamon are used in preparation of various drugs including blood thinners. All the food including cinnamon are metabolized in liver and may cause liver damage just like excess of alcohol and medications. Take an ultrasound abdomen along with liver function test. And consult your family physician with the reports and get examined for better prognosis. Good luck. Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
