Can Colon Polyps And Hemorrhoids Be Treated Together During A Colonoscopy?

During my husband s colonoscopy they were supposed to rubber band his hemeroids but didn t. They removed three polyps ranging from 3 mm to 12 mm. We didn t get to speak to the doctor after to ask why he couldn t do both. Is it normal that since polyps were removed, the hemeroids were not?

Hi,

I cannot say in your particular case, but generally, they can. IT certainly depends on the appearance of either of them, and if they are small or complicated (12 mm and flat) or the hemorrhoids were not operable. The same equipment cannot do both, so mostly, both wouldn't be done at the same time, no.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
