Can Combination Of Implanon And Dexamphetaime Cause Exagerated Anxiety?
My daughter has an implanon implant and changed to 3 tablets of pure dexamphetaime for ADHD around the same time. She is now showing signs exagerated signs of anxiety at timesand there are times were you cannot reason with her. I am trying to figure out if this may have been caused by one or both of these together. She always had some anxiety but not as much as she now shows. She has just turned 19 and has been on this combination for about 6 months.

Both these drugs when taken together may not cause any drug interactions by affecting each other drug action.
But the implanon is known to cause mood and behavioural changes due to the increase in hormone levels.The body needs time to adjust to the new hormone levels.These symptoms may reduce in the subsequent cycles.
You need to wait and watch for the symptom pattern for 2 more weeks. Mind relaxation techniques,counselling and Physical exercise will improve the symptoms. Incase of persisting symptoms,you need to visit your doctor and decide whether to change the drugs.
