Is there a connection between high blood pressure and constipation? I quit taking my blood pressure medicine about a month ago and have been constipated almost that whole time. I have generally never been bothered with constipation before. I am a 64 year old female.
Not all anti-hypertensive drugs cause constipation only diuretics and other few cause constipation you shouldn't discontinue your medication without consulting your physician. Improve your diet with more fiber in it consume probiotic food and maintain healthy bowel habits.
