General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Coronary artery disease and heart failure are two different entities.
On the other hand, coronary heart disease may cause heart failure if the muscle of the heart is not contracting as it should. This happens if the arteries are blocked due to coronary artery disease (heart attack).

The muscle that is not well supplied with blood does not contract as it should and the heart may fail to contract properly and send blood to the rest of the body. As a result, heart failure may happen.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
