Can Cryptosporidium Cure Itself While Having Normal Immune System?
I was diagnosed with cryptosporidium. If I have a normal immune system, will the parasite rid itself or will I carry this parasite for the rest of my life? also i m concerned that I have been carrying this parasite for several months. if I do have a compromised immune system, what hope is there in that case? thankyou
Cryptosporidiosis presents itself with watery diarrhea along with other symptoms like vomiting, pain in abdomen etc. Usually healthy patients become asymptomatic in a few days. At times symptoms may take up to 2 weeks to disappear in normal patients.
In immune compromised patients it can linger on and can be even fatal if not treated. I would advise you to get your blood tests done to rule out any condition where immune system can get compromised. Also, you must take proper treatment even if you don't have compromised immunity.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
