Gastric Ulcers In Stomach, Acid Reflux. Taking Nexium, Iron Preparation. Treatment For Ulcers?
Dr Says I have a Gastric Ulcer in my stomach and acid reflux . Says ulcer is from Stress but on the other hand is checking for hpylori . My iron is at 10 % ? I am on Iron preparation now. Question is if I have been on Nexium for about 5 years now on and off how did I get a gastric ulcer and then be treated for the gastric ulcer with the same pill Nexium?

You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ gastroenterologist and should go for thorough check up.
You should go for endoscopy with antral biopsy.
You should also go for urea breath test for Helicobacter pylori.
H. Pylori is responsible for peptic ulcer disease which includes gastric and duodenal ulcers, nodular and follicular gastritis, and adenocarcinoma.
If H. Pylori infestation has been diagnosed then you have to take coplete eradication therapy for culprit bacteria.
Without eradication, treatment of gastric ulcer is not possible.
You should avoid tomatoes, citrus fruits, oily and spicy food.

hi welcome ,if u have gastric ulcer u would have pain uper abd, with heart burn if reflux,gst upper gi endoscopy eith antral & esophageal biopsy.f/b prorer treatment.of & on taking nexium will give u temporary relief.take continuous treatment with gradual tapering,stop alcohol/cigarrete/fatty meal/chillies /avoid tight pants etc, thank
