Can Dementia Caused By Alcoholism Be Treated And Cured?

Can dementia caused by alcoholism be treated and cured. The patient has not drank alcohol for 2 years but his memory particularly short term is getting steadily worse. He is otherwise chipper his problems all seem to be related to memory as he still is intelligent and has a good sense of humour. What can be done for him, he is 67 years old.

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the case if dementia then it may not be due to alcohol but it could be due to age (Geriatric disease ) it could be treated according to classification and for that he has to consult the neuropsychiatrist hope this information helps.
