Can Detached Retina Or Fluid Behind The Eye Cause Visual Problems?

My 5 year old collided w/ a friend 4 days ago, hitting his cheek bone. He is of course black and blue from the collision, but today he told me that he can't see as well out of the eye on the side of the collision. Could this be a detached retina or fluid behind the eye?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
There is possibility. There are many causes for loss of vision in this situation. Direct or indirect effects, immediate loss or following few hours.

Since presented after few hours: retinal detachment, blood pressing nerves, fracture of nerve canal etc.

What ever might be reason kindly consult ophthalmologist immediately as time elapsed is major final prognostic factor.
