General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, Welcome to HCM.
I understand your concern.
Blood sugar levels of 170 & 237 are indeed very high. It should be under 110 & 140.
Diabetes can damage many organs including eyes if it's not under control. Damage to eye blood vessels caused by diabetes is known as diabetic retinopathy in which these blood vessels may be blocked or swelled. This may lead to loss of vision in long run.
So keep your sugar levels under control and get your eyes examined frequently at least once a year.
Hope this will be helpful.
Take care.
