Can Diabetic Children Consume Sugar Free Desserts?

I am taking care of my niece who is diabetic. 9 years old. I also have her sisters who are not diabetic. They love to help cook muffins and cookies. If we make sugar free desserts, is it ok for her to eat more of them? She is hard to regulate anyway and is regularly in the 2 or 3 hundreds which I don t like. We watch her regular meals for carbs and eat a lot of proteins and vegetables. I just want her to be safe while she is in my care, but we love to bake together as well.

hi,i can understand how difficult and desperate it is to control our tongue for taste and that too in children!some low calorie artificial sweeteners that can be used like STEVIA SUGAR with zero calories and 100% natural.but please donot heat up the artificial sweeteners and you can add them once the food gets cool.its also not recommended if the child is suffering from phenylketonuria.other artificial sweeteners are SPLENDA,CANDEREL.let the child enjoy the taste without increasing her blood sugars.but please use them in limited amount.take care.bye.
