Can Diagnosed Diverticulitis Be Related To Sharp Pain In Side Of Body?

Husband has discs in back.He had pain shot in back 6 days ago. Before shot had left front side pain into side of back.It is when he tries to move it is a 10 and very sharp pain. He had MRI Friday,no results yet.He has pain meds,no help only Valium which he will sleep.Sleeping is good until he moves. Also had colonoscopy 2 weeks ago, some diviticulitis. Could this be the pain? Should I take him to ER? Or wait for results of MRI? Thankyou so much

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The sharp pain that he is having is likely to be related to the herniated discs. This will be confirmed after the report of MRI is available. Till then taking rest will help.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
