Can Diarrhea And High Fever Be Side Effects When Diagnosed With Bronchitis?

My husband went to a Med-express facility last Sunday. They said he had acute bronchitis and was given 3 prescriptions . Prednisone, Virtussin and Azithromycin 250 mg. He is done with the medication and is really weak and extremely tired. Could he have pneumonia? he also had diarrhea and a high fever which both have gone away. Should we see his dr.?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain fever can be seen in case of bronchitis also while diarrhea can occur due to side effects of medications or can also be due to stomach infection.
As he might be still taking the medications and is recently being relieved from infection, the symptoms of weakness can take some more time to resolve..
I would suggest that he should continue taking the medications advised to him as they are appropriate and along with it take a soft diet and drink plenty of water..
Take sufficient rest and avoid exertion..
In case if the symptoms does not improve in a week consult a Pulmonologist and get evaluated and he can advise you chest x ray and blood tests in case if Pneumonia is suspected and can treat you accordingly..
