Can Dosage Of Losartan Be Increased To Control Extreme Elevation In BP?
Hi - I am a 44 year old female with chronic high blood pressure. I take Losartan 25 mg once a day to control it. The last 24 hours, my blood pressure has been very high 152/107 (or right around there). Can I double my dose to try to bring it down? I will be seeing my regular doctor tomorrow afternoon
Hi, i do care for your concern. losatran is an ARB( angiotensin recepor blocker) this medicine cause decrease in blood pressure by changing the compliance in the blood vessels. It is not recommended to change the dosage on self as this could cause rapid fall in blood pressure and may cause unacceptable results. try some diet measures such as salt restriction and avoidance of anxiety untill your consultation with our physician. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer.
