Can Dosage Of Oxycodone Be Altered As Per Pain Levels Post Hernia Repair?
Hi, i just had an inguinal hernia repair today. I requested a no mesh procedure and the doctor did so. the anesthesiologist gave me a regional block on the side of the hernia .i was out for the procedure and am in minimal pain right now . i was prescribed oxycodone 5 mg as needed every four to six hours iam at four now should i take A 5 mg now or wait till i have pain? also if pain becomes worse can i take 10 mg?
Hi. Thanks for your query. This is a good question. Great to know that you asked for no mesh hernia repair and that too under local anesthesia. The pain will be minimal in this procedure hence you may skip the Oxycodone when not in need. Take rest, the pain will be minimal. IF you get pain 5 mg will be sufficient, you need not take 10 mg. Take care, All the best.
