Can Double Lexapro Dosage Be Taken For Depression?

My primary physician is off today. So I can t ask, but I m on 20mg lexapro. It s it ok to double my dose, because my depression is hitting me extra hard recently, and panic attacks are becoming more frequent. For example my heart rate is jumping to 140bpm, and I feel like I can t breathe. I should also add, I can t afford the subscription to this site right now, so I won t even receive an answer?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is not advisable to double your dose because 40 mg of Lexapro which contains escitalopram is a very high dose and should not be taken unless prescribed by a psychiatrist.

If you are having panic attacks and tachycardia, then you can take a sedative like a tablet Alprazolam which will help to calm you down but again it is a prescription drug, and you need to get it prescribed by a physician.
