Can Draining Eustachain Tubes Cause Bumps In The Throat?
I recently had an ear infection that lasted for about a month. I have no clue as to what caused the ear infection (it was not an outer ear infection). As a result, I have had fluid in my ear for months. I have recently noticed several bumps on the back of my throat. I do not have nasal congestion or any noticeable sinus congestion. My question is can draining eustachain tubes cause these bumps?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bumps in the throat after ear problem. Sometimes infection from the ear can spread to throat through eustachian tube and cause throat infection or bumps like viral pharyngitis . I would suggest you to start with course of antiviral or anti bacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs for upper respiratory tract infection. You should do warm saline gargles 3-4 times a day with lukewarm water. Take diet rich in fruits rich in vitamin C as it will boost your immunity. If symptoms of chest pain and upper respiratory tract infection keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Doctor may order CT scan , examination with otoscope , throat swab test and viral culture test .You should take nasal saline rinses. Apply mist humidifiers in room. Take steam several times a day and apply dry warm compresses on external ear .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
