Can Ear Drops Be Taken For An Ear Infection During Pregnancy?
Hi, I am 19 weeks pregnant and have had otitis externa for over 3 weeks now. The doctors have prescribed a course of oral antibiotics Amoxcillin as they are unsure if I can have ear drops. I have taken these for 3 days now and my ear is still very painful and swollen, if anything it feels worse than it did before! Can I take any ear drops to help? I have tried not to take paracetamol even though I am in a lot of pain, as I dont want it to pass through to the baby. Please help!
Hi, first of all get relaxed as your infection will not pass to your baby if proper care take of yours. you need not to go for ear drops as you are taking it orally. It will work. But as you say the things are worsening you have to change the antibiotics. Go for augmentin and combine it with cetrizine. not taking paracetamol is no better remedy. You have to take it for relief as you doing more harm to your body by suffering from pain. the stress may affect your baby.
