Can Early Menopause Cause Loss In The Bone Density?
Hi
I have recently had a bone density scan which showed -2.5 in spine. I'm 44 yrs old, weigh 62kgs and i'm 5ft 8. I have a history of back problems since the age of
18 when i had 3 prolapsed discs. I've experienced an early menopuase at the age of 42 ( i was in Peri menopause from 39 but fell pregnant at the age of 40!). My question is regarding the rapidity of bone loss as i'm worried about having weak bone;s at an early age? Is there a test that can determine bone turnover as i don't want to wait 2 years for another bone scan to find out my osteoporosis is much worse? I have been presscribed HRT plus i am taking calcium and magnesium supplements. Many thanks. Jo
