Can Elevated Liver Enzymes Be Reduced On Withdrawal From Alcohol Intake?

hello, today is april 18th 2015. I asked my current doctor on march 9th to put me in the hoospital, because i wanted close medical supervision while detoxing from alcohol. it has been over 6 weeks, i feel no abdominal discomfort anymore. Also, i drink about 2 gallons of water daily. To my suprise all my kidney enzymes were normal as well as my cbc, from the 1st day.. However, a few liver functions were elevated. do you think by this point in timethey should be normal? i am a 36 year old male in good health as well as weight and height. I have been also watching my diet closely. What would be your idea on the hepatic situation?? thank you -Tony C, from chicago

Hi Tony
its nice to know that you are detoxing from alcohol. generally it takes few months for the liver enzymes to come back to normal and also depends on the values of liver enzymes at the time of detoxing
you will be requiring a lot of support from your well wishers during the phase

Wish You Good Health
