Hi,

In order to answer your question, I would like to know the type of surgery done. There are different types and techniques of prostate cancer surgery done, minimizing the complication of erectile dysfunction, by sparing the nerve responsible for erection. However, depending upon the disease, whether nerve-sparing was possible or not, that needs to be known. Secondly, if the nerve was spared, then usually erection returns within 6 months from surgery. Please contact your surgeon and discuss the same, since he would be knowing the exact details of the surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jatin Bhatia, Radiation Oncologist
