I have been on estradiol f or 14 yrs, and I feel I have some anxiety people really get on my nerves and I run my own hair salon. Im going to try to go off the patch but the hot flashes will be bad I think, and then I don t feel like having intercourse either. what do I do
Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Hot flashes are due to loss of estrogen following menopause and so is anxiety. However, in most cases they are mild, and women not infrequently do manage without any estrogen replacement. Estrogen is given only in severe cases. I would suggest you to go for a regular exercise programm like morning walks or jogging, and have healthy food and fresh fruits with enough liquids to keep you fit throughout the day. You will get acclimatised gradually and might not need any estrogen replacement .
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts. Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
