Can Excess Body Weight Impact The Testosterone Levels In The Body?
Recently had lab work done that indicated hypothyroidism and also low testosterone. Total Testosterone=294 ng/dl 348-1197 Free Testosterone (Direct)=5.9 pg/ml 8.7-25.1TSH =6.440 uIU/ml 0.450-4.500Thyroxine (T4) =6.4 ug/dl 4.5-12.0I have been prescribed 100mcg Synthroid, but not anything for Testosterone. Reasons explained to me were BMI too high needed to lose weight first and check back in 1 month for possible effects to testosterone from increased thyroid production. My BMI is 37 and i am a 36yr old male. Is it normal for extra weight to impact testosterone levels this much?
